Bishopric message
Good afternoon brothers and sisters,
We hope this message finds you safe and happy.
Thank you for the many acts of kindness that are demonstrated throughout our neighborhood and within our ward. We feel God’s love in our homes because of your love and service to each of us.
Quote of the week from the Gospel Living App. “I testify that Jesus Christ is our loving savior, our redeemer, the master healer, and our faithful friend. If we turn to him, he will heal us and make us whole again”. Christina B. Franco – Primary General Presidency
This week we lost a dear sister of our ward. Sister Marion Palmer passed away peacefully with her family on Wednesday March 10th. Marion was 96 years old (September 16, 1924 – March 10, 2021). Many in our ward have been blessed to know Marion for many of those 96 years. Marion will be missed. Marion and Larry, may not be with us now, but their work and legacy will continue on through their family and friends. The precious memories of Marion will not soon fade. We will be reminded of her optimism, faith and love each time we drive by her home on Texas Street.
The family will be having a family funeral service at Larkin Sunset Lawn on Thursday March 18th at 11:00am. Immediate family is invited to attend in person. As a ward and neighborhood, we are able to participate in the service by using Zoom. You may access the Zoom feed though Larkin’s website.

For tomorrow’s sacrament meeting we are pleased to be able to hear from representatives of the Parley’s Stake Committee on Inclusion. President Sam Straight, Lizeth Kent and Deidre Straight will be our speakers. We are grateful to these individuals for bringing this important and timely message to our ward. Tomorrow is a 2nd Sunday, letters A-K are invited to attend in person. And as always, others desiring to participate in person this week are welcome to come.
As a reminder, tomorrow morning at 2:00am Daylight Savings Time begins. At 2:00am clocks should “spring” forward one hour.
Our Fast & Testimony Meeting for the month of April will actually occur on March 28th, because of Annual General Conference taking place on April 3rd and 4th.
Tomorrow our Young Women and Young Men will be meeting in their classes/quorums at the ward in person at 10:00am. Typically in person Sunday youth meetings will take place on 4th Sundays. However, Youth leaders have decided to move the in person meeting to the 2nd Sunday (tomorrow) this month, because the 4th Sunday is at the time of school spring break and several may be traveling. Our 4th Sunday youth meetings will take place, just not in person, rather over Zoom. Thanks for your flexibility.
Next Saturday March 20th our youth will be collecting food in the neighborhood for “Feed Utah”, benefiting the Utah Food Bank. If you are able to contribute, please have your donation in a plastic grocery bag by your front door before 9:00am on Saturday. The most needed items include; peanut butter, canned stew, canned tuna, canned chicken, and macaroni and cheese. *No glass items, please. More information can be found at feedutah2021.org. Thank you for your generous contributions and helping those most in need in our community.
Enjoy your Saturday and be safe. We look forward to worshiping together tomorrow.
We are so grateful for the unity we feel from our fellow ward members. We ask that we continue to pray for those in our area that are struggling at this time.
Love,
The Bishopric
