Bishop Wallis – Message

In preparation for General Conference next Sunday, I would encourage each of you to take a few moments to ponder the miracle of The Restoration.  Brian Lloyd shared a great link with our priests last week for a BYU Devotional by Elder Gary Stevenson called “The Ongoing Restoration“.  The actual talk starts about 9 minutes into the video and presents great insight into the prophet Joseph Smith and some of the other key figures involved in bringing forth the Book of Mormon.  It is amazing to think how young the prophet and others were at that time and that with limited education and means the Lord was able to use them to bring about the miraculous Restoration of the gospel.

It is easy for us to compare ourselves to others and feel inadequate, however, “by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.”  The restoration is certainly a great example of that.  I hope and pray that we can look for small and simple ways to reach out to one another in the coming weeks and months as we face and overcome the many challenges that will surely arise from this pandemic.  We love you all and pray for your well-being. I am here to serve you in any way that I can. I look forward to sharing the experience of hearing from our prophet and other church leaders during General Conference.
