Bishopric message
Brothers & Sisters,
We are grateful for the spiritual feast we received this past weekend at the Stake Conference.
We love the scripture in Moroni that says “come unto Christ, and be perfected in Him.” Though our strivings to come unto the Savior are not perfect in and of themselves, we know the Lord will magnify us and our righteous efforts. We are grateful for the imperfect efforts made every day in our ward, neighborhood, and community. They matter and are meaningful. Some are seen, but most are not seen. Perhaps all are imperfect in one way or another. Any effort can be used by the Lord and is often part of the many miracles that occur every day. Indeed something imperfect becomes perfect through our Savior.

Parley’s Stake Picnic: Thursday, September 21st from 6-8 pm at the Sugarbeet pavilion in Sugarhouse Park (SW corner).
P3 Primary Program: Sunday, September 24th. Please invite all family, friends, and neighbors to come see our wonderful primary children share their testimonies of the Savior and His doctrine. See the attached invitation.

The Mabeys will be leading another Emotional Resilience class as part of our Ward’s Self-Reliance efforts. The class is intended to help members put into practice principles of faith, education, hard work, and trust in the Lord as we learn to build our emotional resilience. This class is an opportunity to learn and practice specific skills to be able to be more resilient as we face challenges in our lives. The time to meet will be determined by those interested in participating. It’s a 10-week class, and we would like to start in the next few weeks. If you are interested, please contact Brent Mabey at 801-824-3997, Mary Mabey at 801-558-2881, or a member of the Bishopric.
Blood drive will be held Tuesday, September 19th from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Stake Center building (1870 East Parleys Canyon Blvd). You are invited to participate if you are able.
