4th Ward

Greetings Parleys 4th Ward

Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Parleys Fourth Ward,

We love you and think of you often during this time that we are unable to meet together. We want you to know that we pray for you and are inspired by your goodness in the acts of service and kindness that we hear reported so regularly.

We hope you have been inspired and strengthened by the recent messages given by our Prophet and other church leaders in General Conference as well as by the opportunity to reflect upon the Savior and His Atonement during the Easter season. As the weather warms and new life springs up around us, may we recognize that all things testify of the Savior.

Some of you may have seen the First Presidency’s recent Guidance for Administering the Church in Challenging Times, as found on the homepage of ChurchofJesusChrist.org. In it we are reminded of the following – “Inspired direction over many years has prepared the Lord’s Church and its members, both temporally and spiritually, for changing and challenging times.” Among other things, you will also find helpful guidance on matters such as ordinances, tithing and temple recommends. Please feel free to reach out to a member of the bishopric with any questions you may have.

As a reminder specific to the sacrament, we are currently authorized to administer the ordinance of the sacrament in households with a worthy priest or Melchizedek Priesthood holder. As we follow government directives and local regulations that restrict our ability to enter the homes of non-family members, we are very mindful of those who currently are unable to partake of the sacrament. We invite you as individuals and families to pray that conditions will improve sufficiently so that this important ordinance can be made available to all the members of our ward again.

In our current climate, it is easy to measure the events of the world and our lives in terms of what we have lost or are unable to do. Our hope is that we will also take a moment to measure what has and can yet be gained from this situation.

As a final suggestion for your personal and family study, we include two wonderful talks below by Elder Ballard and President Nelson that contain especially timely counsel for us today. Brothers and sisters, we love you and anxiously look forward to the day when we can gather again to worship with you. We pray that you will be watched over and blessed with health, peace and happiness in your homes.

With love,

Parleys Fourth Ward Bishopric
