3rd Ward

Bishopric message

Good evening our friends in Parley’s 3rd Ward,

It was a real treat to see many of you in our sacrament meetings last week. You just can’t replace being gathered together with those you care for. We wish to thank our two speakers from last week Elder Andrew Thomas and Elder William Poulson. They are two of Parley’s 3rd Ward’s finest. Their messages were inspiring to all. Similarly, our Aaronic Priesthood brethren administered the Sacrament in the most reverent and safe manner possible. We were all able to focus on the Savior, rather than being uncomfortable with the handling of the sacrament trays and emblems.

This week we are pleased to have Blake Henderson and Elder Williamson, a full time missionary recently assigned to Parley’s Stake. Thank you, Blake and Elder Williamson for your preparation.

Fortunately, our church leaders continue to make adjustments to our Sunday services and weekday activities as we progress toward a full return to church. Please see below the updated details regarding this coming Sunday and the foreseeable future.

Sacrament Services –

Parley’s 3rd Ward will hold ONE Sacrament Meeting EACH week at 12:00pm (Noon)

Ward members are invited to attend in-person every other week (Weeks 1,3 Last names A-K | Weeks 2,4 Last names L-Z)

Sacrament Meetings will be streamed online via Zoom or other means

The administration of the sacrament will take place after sacrament meeting each Sunday:

In-person – The 35-minute sacrament meeting will take place and conclude, then the administration of the sacrament will take place (including a sacrament hymn)

In-home – The 35-minute sacrament meeting will be streamed live, then the streaming stops and members are encouraged to administer the sacrament in their homes. If members need assistance with the sacrament meeting administration, please call your ministering brothers or a member of the Elder’s Quorum Presidency.

The meeting and the ordinance of the Sacrament combined should take no more than one hour

We are now able to accommodate up to 150 people in Sacrament Meeting at one time

There will be no singing of hymns at this time

No changes will take place from last week’s COVID-19 protocol and sanitizing

Thank you so much to everyone for being so patient and accommodating as we react to the ever changing COVID-19 conditions. And a special thanks to President Sipherd for speedily organizing the Sunday School classes to be prepared for tomorrow. Also, a shout-out to our teachers, who were given very little notice to prepare for their lessons this week.

Note: Brothers and sisters, if your Temple Recommend has expired or will expire in the near future, the Bishopric would be pleased to assist you with an interview after Sacrament meeting. If that time does not work for you, please reach out to Gordon Poulson or any members of the Bishopric.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and try to enjoy the unique journey we are on.

Love,

The Bishopric
