Bishopric message
Good evening brothers and sisters, We hope that you had an inspirational Easter and General Conference last weekend. We look forward to worshiping together tomorrow. Scripture of the day: “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” (Matt. 22:36–39). Let us never forget that the Lord gave us a specific commandment to love God and to love one another. Tomorrow is a 2nd Sunday, in-person for last name’s letters A-K. We are pleased to be able to hear from Sarah Pickett, Carmen Little and Kristen…

Good evening Parley’s 3rd Ward, In honor of Women’s History Month, The Gospel Living App tells the story of Abish in the Book of Mormon, a woman of faith: Abish was a Lamanite woman who served the king and queen. She’d converted to the gospel years earlier but kept it a secret—probably because faithful people were persecuted in her community. Then one day a Nephite missionary named Ammon showed up and taught the king and queen about the gospel. The Spirit was so strong that everyone collapsed! Abish was the only one left standing—and she knew it was time to share her testimony. She literally ran from house to house,…

Good evening, Scripture of the week from the Gospel Living App. Jesus Christ always delivers on his promises. “And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort, for I know of the covenant which ye made unto me; and I will covenant with my people and deliver them out of bondage. And I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs, even while you are in bondage; and this will I do that ye may stand as witnesses for me…

Good afternoon friends in the Parley’s 3rd Ward, We are so encouraged by all of the many wonderful things happening in our community at this time. There is progress with vaccinations, our children are back in school (sort of), we are receiving needed moisture and many are engaged in serving others. “The enduring joy of the gospel” is a phrase from the new Aaronic Priesthood Quorum Theme. But why is joy described as enduring? And as something rooted in the gospel? Well, joy in the gospel sense is different from mere pleasure or contentment. President Russell M. Nelson taught that joy comes not from our circumstances but from our focus.…

Good afternoon friends, We hope you are enjoying the beautiful sunshine today. On Wednesday evening, the young women held their annual New Beginning’s meeting. It was a real treat to see our young women gathered together in the chapel enjoying their tender friendships. In the meeting the girls and their leaders introduced the new incoming young women and shared some of their many talents including singing & playing musical instruments. They also introduced this year’s youth theme, which is based on the scriptures Doctrine & Covenants 66:33-34 33 Wherefore, be not weary in well-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of small things proceedeth…
