COVID19 Update – 04/04

As we are ending week 3 of home church, home schooling, social distancing and our state’s ‘stay home, stay safe’ directive we were so grateful for the opportunity to pause and listen to the words of living prophets and church leaders during General Conference today.  We hope that you have also been enjoying it and are looking forward to participating in a special solemn assembly during the Sunday morning session.  As mentioned, if you do not have a white handkerchief at home, there is no need to go out and purchase one.  We have been instructed to simply wave our hand for the Hosana shout. We love and appreciate each of you and are so grateful for your efforts in ministering to one another. A few updates we would like to share with you:

1. Missionaries – we welcomed home 3 more missionaries this week:
   1. Elder Matthew Lloyd – Argentina Buenos Aires West
   1. Elder Ben Nielsen – Mexico Merida
   1. Taylor Zwick – Chile Santiago West

In keeping with the latest church guidelines, these young men have been released and will have an opportunity to return to the mission field when the pandemic is over. Please join me in welcoming them home and showing appreciation for their diligent service.

• Stake website – Hopefully you received an email from the stake about the recently constructed Parleys Stake website.  Our ward has a page on this site and we hope to add some content to this in the coming weeks.  For now, please enjoy hearing from Ben Nielsen in the April Archives of the Parleys 1^st ward page or on the Missionaries page!
• Easter Sunday – We hope you will join us next Sunday for a special Easter program.  We are putting together a live Zoom meeting for the Parleys First Ward.  In the coming days we will send out a link for this meeting.  It should last about 15-20 min.
