3rd Ward

Bishopric message

Good evening Parley’s 3rd Ward,

We hope you have had a peaceful weekend. We have been fortunate to enjoy some beautiful spring weather. This spring feels particular special as we progress towards a little less restricted way of life.

Unfortunately this week Parley’s 3rd Ward has experienced the loss of one of our own. Our dear Sister Elizabeth (Liz) Bowden unexpectedly passed away this morning of natural causes at her home. Sister Bowden, a long time resident of Bernadine Drive is known by her neighbors and friends as a kind and compassionate sister. Her witty personality and positive outlook was infections to those around her. Among other frequent acts of service towards others, Liz served us faithfully and cheerfully in the Parley’s 3rd Ward Library for several years. Liz will be missed.

Also, Brother Gordon Poulson’s father, Meredith M. Poulson passed away of natural causes` from old age this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with our great neighbors, Gordon, Julie, Will and the entire Poulson family at this time.

May both of these families be comforted by their faith in our Redeemer and his great Plan of Happiness. Thanks be to our Heavenly Father who gives us victory over death through our Lord Jesus Christ.

For our in-home Sacrament Meeting talks this week, we are fortunate to hear from Courtney and Dan Nebeker. They are speaking on the subject of “Learning by the Spirit”. We thank them for their preparation and their willingness to share their faith and experiences with us.

Next week we will be pleased to have messages from our high school graduating seniors.

Thanks for all you do to serve one another each day. We truly live in a remarkable place with amazing people.

Sincerely,

The Bishopric
