Dear Friends, This week on the 4th we commemorated the beginnings and independence of the United States. We hope that you enjoyed the holiday. We proclaim with one voice, adding ours to the many before us, that the God of Heaven orchestrated the founding of this great nation, that the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ personally walked among the ancient inhabitants of this continent, and that both God our Father and Jesus Christ appeared to the boy Joseph Smith. This is a blessed land and we are a blessed people. We members of the Church of Jesus Christ are uniquely fortunate. May each of us do our part to preserve the…

We express our deepest condolences to the entire Berthold family and want them to know our thoughts and prayers are with them. The funeral will be held July 11th. We testify of the power and majesty of our Savior’s atonement and resurrection. He lives! In Him all mortal experience is encompassed and swallowed up. Through Him we may be reconciled with the Father. His sacrifice and the plan of salvation are a complete expression of God’s love for each of us. May we abide with our Savior and…

Dear Brothers & Sisters, It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Brother Jim Parkin this past week. Our prayers and thoughts are with Bonnie and the rest of the Parkin family at this time. We quote Brother Parkin’s Testimony in his obituary “I believe in and celebrate the living Christ. We must learn from Him and follow His example and one day we will again join with Him for the eternities.” We add our…

Dear Friends, Happy Memorial Day weekend! We remember those who have passed on. We remember their friendship, their goodness, their bravery, their righteous actions, and much more. President Spencer W. Kimball stated that the most important word in the English language just might be “remember.” May we all remember Jesus, who descended below all things to redeem us. May we all remember that He showed us the right way to live. May we all remember to follow Him. May we all remember to follow His prophets. May we all remember to follow all of the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We testify that each of us (and they…

Dear Brothers & Sisters, How grateful we are for our P3 missionaries – the comings and goings of our young and not-so-young missionaries is truly inspiring. We can learn so much from their very personal experience of focused discipleship. As I was reminded this week, “We cannot really learn any deep or lasting things about Jesus until we take His yoke upon us.” –Elder Maxwell We see so many wonderful examples in our neighborhood. Thank you for your righteous acts, kind words, and formal and informal expressions of charity and love for each other. May God bless you for your consecrated discipleship of Jesus Christ. We hope you can join…
