Good evening brothers and sisters, One thing is for sure, Salt Lake City’s weather in the spring can be a little inconsistent, 50 degrees today and the forecast shows we will be in the mid 90’s next week. There is nothing really ordinary about where we live, we are convinced that is one of the reasons we are so fond our area. Ministering. We continue to be amazed at the many acts of kindness happening in our community. And believe there is an increased sense of unity among both our neighbors and complete strangers alike. As we continue to make progress to overcome the affects of COVID-19, we need to…

Good evening Parley’s 3rd Ward, We hope you have had a peaceful weekend. We have been fortunate to enjoy some beautiful spring weather. This spring feels particular special as we progress towards a little less restricted way of life. Unfortunately this week Parley’s 3rd Ward has experienced the loss of one of our own. Our dear Sister Elizabeth (Liz) Bowden unexpectedly passed away this morning of natural causes at her home. Sister Bowden, a long time resident of Bernadine Drive is known by her neighbors and friends as a kind and compassionate sister. Her witty personality and positive outlook was infections to those around her. Among other frequent acts of…

Happy Mother’s Day! We are all very grateful for the mothers and women in our lives. We are blessed to be associated with such great examples of loving mothers and women in our own families and in our neighborhood. The impact of tender-hearted and strong women is far reaching and absolutely essential in ministering to our Heavenly Father’s children. When women of the Church and the world stand together they are a powerful force for good. Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf has said, “As we look at the history of this earth and at the history of the restored Church of Jesus Christ, it becomes obvious that women hold a special…

We are truly blessed to be surrounded by kind and loving people. We have some wonderful messages for your Sunday in-home meetings from some of our Mighty P3 Missionaries. Hello Parley’s 3rd Ward! We hope this email finds you well and in good spirits. There is so much to talk about. Covid-19 has changed all our lives, but there is so much good happening in our ward. Random acts of kindness abound. People are showing love and genuine concern for one another. The weather has been good. There have never been so many people out walking around, and we feel a togetherness in spite of the social limitations. General Conference was inspiring. If ever we need direction and inspiration from a prophet, it’s now. At President Nelson’s request, many fasted yesterday, Good Friday, for relief from Covid-19. We will…

Bishopric message
Good evening Brothers and Sisters, In spite of the fact that we are living in an uncertain time, we have been taught throughout the scriptures that if we continue to have hope and faith, we should have nothing to fear about the future. In Alma 36:3 Alma encourages his son Helaman, “I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day”. It is hard to imagine a stronger support group than we have with our friends of the Parley’s 3rd Ward. As a Ward family…

Dear Sisters and Brothers: What a memorable week it has been! Who would have ever imagined living through a worldwide pandemic and experiencing a significant earthquake all in the same week! We are certainly learning to become more resilient and more dependent on our own faith. With the recent suspension of church meetings, there are a few adjustments to our worship patterns. Administering the Sacrament – Starting tomorrow we would like any member who would like to have the sacrament in their home to receive it. Any home with an Elder or Priest is authorized to administer the sacrament. For the remainder, your Ministering Brothers are authorized to administer the…
