Bishopric message
Parley’s 3rd Ward, We hope this email finds you well this beautiful spring day. We miss seeing your smiling faces each Sunday. Although, a simple wave from our friends as we walk or drive up and down the streets of our neighborhood is comforting to the soul. Our youth are staying engaged and connected with creative/remote activities most weeks. Thanks to wonderful leaders who organize events that draw us together. We are truly blessed to be surrounded by kind and loving people. We have some wonderful messages for your Sunday in-home meetings from some of our Mighty P3 Missionaries. Elder Jacob Jepsen (Marshall Islands) Elder Spencer Thomas (Lima Peru) You…

Greetings Parleys 4th Ward
Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Parleys Fourth Ward, We love you and think of you often during this time that we are unable to meet together. We want you to know that we pray for you and are inspired by your goodness in the acts of service and kindness that we hear reported so regularly. We hope you have been inspired and strengthened by the recent messages given by our Prophet and other church leaders in General Conference as well as by the opportunity to reflect upon the Savior and His Atonement during the Easter season. As the weather warms and new life springs up around us, may we…

We miss you
Boy do we miss you!!! It is amazing how easy it was to take seeing one another every week for granted. I guess we’ll never do that again! Here is the link to view the conference selfies that some of our sisters chose to share: -Thank you to those who braved quarantine hair and make-up (or lack thereof) to join us in this effort. We hope that seeing faces of those we love will bring you joy and peace on this beautiful Sabbath day. Love to you all, Katherine, Laurie, Catherine, Candice & Tokiko

Bishop Message – 04/18
Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Parleys 6 Ward, We hope this message finds you safe and healthy. We continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers and we know you are also praying for others. It’s comforting and strengthening to know and practice the power of fasting and prayer. As I continue to see the thoughtful acts of caring for each other, I am reminded of the talk given by Elder John A. McCune, of the Seventy, in our recent General Conference. He said, “Through Christ’s Church, we are strengthened through our experiences as a community of Saints. We hear His voice through His prophets, seers, and revelators. Most importantly, through…

Bishop Wallis – Easter Message
I loved general conference last weekend. It was wonderful to hear from our prophet and other church leaders. There were many messages that brought comfort and hope to me over those two days. While it seems like the work of the Lord has come to a standstill with so many of our missionaries being recalled, our temples closed and not being able to worship together, it was thrilling to hear about temples being approved and planned for in Shanghai, China and the United Arab Emirates among other places! Then came Monday and back to reality. The week started with some dark headlines. President Trump predicted the week would “probably be…

Bishopric message
Hello Parley’s 3rd Ward! We hope this email finds you well and in good spirits. There is so much to talk about. Covid-19 has changed all our lives, but there is so much good happening in our ward. Random acts of kindness abound. People are showing love and genuine concern for one another. The weather has been good. There have never been so many people out walking around, and we feel a togetherness in spite of the social limitations. General Conference was inspiring. If ever we need direction and inspiration from a prophet, it’s now. At President Nelson’s request, many fasted yesterday, Good Friday, for relief from Covid-19. We will…

Bishop’s Thought
As I listened to conference this afternoon I was impressed by my own need for a personal and family “check-up”. Elder Tai of the Seventy spoke about a recent visit to the doctor’s office where he was asked to make some changes in his eating and exercise habits to improve his health. He then posed a question about what kind of changes we might need to make in our own lives if we were to undergo a “spiritual examination.” This type of personal reflection was further emphasized by Elder Stevenson’s talk at the end of the session when he discussed the closure of the Salt Lake Temple for renovation and…

COVID19 Update – 04/04
As we are ending week 3 of home church, home schooling, social distancing and our state’s ‘stay home, stay safe’ directive we were so grateful for the opportunity to pause and listen to the words of living prophets and church leaders during General Conference today. We hope that you have also been enjoying it and are looking forward to participating in a special solemn assembly during the Sunday morning session. As mentioned, if you do not have a white handkerchief at home, there is no need to go out and purchase one. We have been instructed to simply wave our hand for the Hosana shout. We love and appreciate each…
